After growing up in the Bay Area, Jason enrolled at the University of Hawaii. Two years later Jason transferred to Western Washington University. College was a time of intense spiritual seeking. This journey eventually lead him to The Master's College where he finished his bachelor's degree in Christian Education with an emphasis in Youth Ministry. More important than a degree, Jason said that he found what he was looking for: "God and truth."

For 10 years prior to his association with JBU, Jason served in youth ministry in Southern California. He is currently working on a doctorate in Educational Ministries from Biola University's Talbot School of Theology.

He and his wife Heather have two daughters, Madison and Elise.
