Dr. Holly Catterton Allen is an associate professor at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where she directs the Children and Family Ministries program in the Biblical Studies Division. She teaches undergraduate courses such as Children's Ministry, Nurturing Spiritual Development in Children, and Family Ministry, as well as graduate courses such as Spiritual Formation and the Family. Dr. Allen has previously taught at Biola University and Abilene Christian University. Her Ph.D. is from Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, CA. Dr. Allen's areas of scholarly interest are children's spirituality and intergenerational issues. Her first book, Nurturing Children’s Spirituality: Christian Perspectives and Best Practices (Cascade), an edited volume, was released in January 2008. She is married to Dr. Leonard Allen and they have three adult children and three grandchildren. |
