The Kanakuk Institute’s Executive Director, Keith Chancey, has over 30 years experience in youth ministry. Keith graduated with a Master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and pioneered K-Life in St. Louis in 1980 and Dallas in 1984. In 1979, he started working at Kanakuk and has directed K-7 since 1993. Keith spent 14 years at Denton Bible Church in Texas as a youth pastor where he grew a program of four kids into over 600. In 2001, Keith began to develop the Kanakuk Institute out of his dream to further nurture the staff that work at Kanakuk Kamps every summer.

He is a national speaker for FCA and has taught youth pastors all over the world including Nepal, Russia, and Austria. His passionate fun-loving attitude has allowed him to minister to thousands of children over the years, each of whom have seen a solid picture of the heart of Christ through Keith’s love for people.
