Andy Braner

Andy Braner is the President and Director of Kanakuk Colorado. He was the originator of the camp in the summer of 1996 after he had completed his BA at Baylor University followed by two years of intensive hands-on experience in every facet of the departmental organizations of Kanakuk Kamps in Branson, MO.  Andy, along with his wife, Jamie Jo, have worked hand in hand to establish a beautiful kamp in the pristine wilderness of the Colorado San Juan mountains.  They have continued to make adjustments to achieve the best possible appearance and maintain staff performance levels for kampers daily activities.  Jamie Jo serves as the Women's Director and coordinates many of the camp programs.  Andy and Jamie Jo have four children: Hays, Maggie, Dax, and Gabby.  Andy and Jamie Jo model the lives of Christian heroes in their faith and workmanship.

 

In 2008 Kanakuk Colorado added a new dimension to the camping experience in Bayfield, Colorado with the addition of a state of the art sound and video equipped Institute teaching facility with theatre seating.  The course of apologetics that Andy presents all over the United States and internationally to teenagers in schools, retreats and church venues is available on a daily basis with Christian Worldview teaching in this new institute building.

 

All of the popular sports of the area, white water rafting, mountain biking, fly fishing, rock climbing, wet 'n wild, skiing, kayaking, tubing, sailing, wave runners, backpacking, tree tops, zipline, trampoline, frisbee golf, field archery, and horseback riding are part of the package of events awaiting teenagers from 13 to 18 years of age at the Colorado Camp.  Check out Andy's website at andybraner.com.

 

Andy is a published author.  His first publication was a section of “Parent’s Guide to Spiritual Mentoring of Teens”, published by Focus on the Family.  Andy has written two books, published by Zondervan/Youth Specialties.  “LOVE THIS!” was released January 2007 and “DUPLICATE THIS!” was released January 2008.
