Mary Habermas has been John Brown University’s Director of Library Services since 2001.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina (in History) and her Master’s in Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma.  In addition to supervising library resources and services, Mary leads research workshops, teaches research classes, and tries to keep up with copyright issues.  For nine years Mary worked as a proofreader for Baker Books, and can occasionally be persuaded to proofread a thesis or dissertation.  She is married to Dr. Ron Habermas, Professor of Biblical Studies at JBU.  They have three adult daughters and one grandson.
